Appealing play materials for at home, as gifts, or for your family-friendly establishment
Many of the toys you will find here accompany children for a long time—
and are also wonderful for at home, as gift ideas, or for other establishments that provide children with an appealing environment. Below you will find our selected favorites for open-ended play, which we ourselves appreciate and are happy to recommend.
Waytoplay
With these flexible play roads, you can always create new worlds and shapes. Waytoplay is one of the few toys that you can find in our café since it opened. For even more creativity, we recently added Waytoplay "arches."
Particularly great: You can also use the waterproof and indestructible roads outdoors.
Stapelstein
Known to almost all parents and imitated by some, we are completely convinced of the quality of the original Stapelsteine. They are quite expensive to purchase, but we appreciate their durability and have noticed in our own home that they are constantly being integrated into play in a variety of ways.
Our advicew: If minor cosmetic flaws don't bother you, save money by buying the "unique" version.
Woom WOW
When our daughter was little, this first woom bike didn't exist yet. However, we became fans once she started cycling. Based on our observations in the café, we recommend choosing the woom Wow based on your child's height rather than their age, so that their legs can actually reach the floor.
Outdoors: Of course, your child can also ride it outdoors. If they lose interest after a while, the handlebars can be turned around and the bike hung on the stroller handle.
MODU
MODU consists of foam blocks, wheels, and connectors that can be used to build toys and even furniture. Our favorite "build-able" objects are a two-story shelf, the kitchen, and the little speedsters made from just two blocks and the "swirley wheels." To ensure that there are lots of possibilities right from the start, we recommend the Dreamer Set.
Bygge
The bygge stones for stacking, building, and balancing can be expanded as desired. Available in various bright colors, they can be used creatively not only indoors but also in the garden or pool. The stones are available in sets, but can also be purchased individually, and new products are added regularly.
Growing up: Simply build yourself or your child one or two steps to make it easier to get into bed or onto the kitchen countertop.
Ehrenkind
The PRO play mat from Ehrenkind has been with us at home since our daughter was born—and in the café since it opened. It is particularly thick, non-slip, and insulating. It offers comfort and protection while playing, crawling, and romping around—for babies, toddlers, and the whole family.
In the café: We replace the light-colored mats a little more frequently, as they tend to get discolored in places due to heavy use. For places like our café, we recommend darker versions.
